Sofiia is a multi-disciplinary artist. She was born in Odesa, Ukraine in 1997. But because of the Russian aggression against Ukraine she moved to Berlin.
She studied Fine Art in Odessa Art College of Grekov. She obtained a Master’s degree in the National Academy of Fine Arts in 2021.
She also graduated from Kiev Academy of Media Arts (Contemporary Artist), in 2020.
She explores the social, psychological and political aspects of human existence. With a focus on the issues of truth, responsibility, subjective and objective she tries to navigate all the differences of human opinions. Her art is a deep self-reflection and research on human’s behavior. Since 2015, she has been teaching her own art course for children and adults. In 2022, she opened the space "Nizhniy Val 35" in Kyiv, which has then become a place for cultural lectures and artistic meetings.
The artist is working with different media like fine art, graphics, performance, installation, photo, digital art, sound and video.
Now, in the West of Europe, she is creating a lot of new projects. There was 2 performances in Berlin and Monaco, focusing on the topic of war. Art helps her overcome the hardships of the war times and involve other people in discussions. The viewers of her today projects can deeply explore her feelings about the situation in Ukraine.
